Taking a swig

While animating the scene where our character takes a swig of his drink I used a video from the game Team Fortress 2 of a character doing the same thing as reference and help me animate the sequence...

Hut Finished & Progress Update

Finally after several days I have managed to texture the entire hut. All that I need to do to it now is add a light from the inside.

Overall I only have the metal poles at the harbour and the box and barrell storages left to texture then I'm virtually done.

Texturing Update

Archway all stoned and bricked up. At this point all I need to do texture-wise is the rest of the hut, the storage, rest of the archway and metal pilars on the harbour. Not much left to do and right on task...

Rendered Ramp

After the texturing of the crates, barrells and ramp I was able to bump map it and render the scene...

Flying Welshman... again

And now Lewis takes the scene on the Flying Welshman's front sail. Since he's part Welsh I thought I'd stick on the front for a little while..

The Flying Welshman

In my recent adventure with the Flying Welshman I firstly started sorting out the crows nest. I gave it some metal rings and studs and a simple lambert colouring to identify the wood (not final).

A New Boat

After some time of manufacturing images of boats i returned to the subject and created a newer version. In this version I wanted to make it look a little more spiky and more sinister. Also the boat will be the vessel from which one of our characters will be using a telescope to follow the other character and scan our entire environment.

Storage Hut

In the corner i created a storage place where more crates and barrells can be stored away. Rather than make each individual plank of wood I used a single cube and modified it to look like several planks nailed together...

Hut Chimney

Managed to lay down a chimney for my hut on the harbour using blocks with modified vertexs...

New Notion for a Narrative

Earlier today me, Dan and Alec (Simon wasn't able to make the meeting) spoke with Jared and through the talks of ideas and what we plan to achieve we came up with a new idea for a narrative...We spoke of an idea of a man in the crows nest of the big ship sitting at sea with a telescope. Through him we could show a second-person persecptive of our character walking through the environment as well as a first person perspective of the character within and interacting with the environment.

Through changing between the perspectives we could achieve both an inside view of the environment as well as a wide range view from the man in the crows nest. Also this would mean that certain parts of the animated character could be made less tedious as the character won't always be viewed from close up but rather from a distance and sometimes maybe not even at all for a few seconds. Here below shows an uncompleted version of our environment and the potential view of the man in the crows nest to see everything on our currently agreed route for the character...
